Introduction to World Agricultural Science and Technology Grades 9-12  1/2 credit

A basic introductory course designed to introduce beginning students in Agricultural Science to Global Agriculture. The course also includes a history of FFA, agricultural career development, leadership, communications, and parlimentary procedure.

Applied Agricultural Science and Technology Grades 9-12 1/2 credit

A basic applied course designed to enhance the agricultural comprehension of beginning students in Agricultural Science and Technology. The course includes soils, plants, animals, agricultural construction, food science, supervised occupational experienceprograms, and leadership

Introduction to Agricultural Mechanics Grades 10-12 1/2 credit

A course designed to familiarize the student with basic theory and specialized skills. Skills will be developed in areas of tool identification and safe use, carpentry, electricity, plumbing, masonry, fencing, painting, metal working and welding processes.

Agricultural Metal Fabrication Technology Grades 10-12 1/2 credit

A course to develop skills in metal fabrication processes including hot and cold metal processes, welding out of position, plasma, tig and mig processes. There is normally a large metal project to be completed in the course. Offered in spring only.

Agricultural Power Technology Grades 10-12 1/2 credit

.A course designed to develop skills in selection, operation, and maintenance of small air-cooled engines, multi-cylinder engines, hydraulic motors, electric motors, and agricultural machinery and tractors.

 Agriculture Structures Technology Grades 10-12 1/2 credit 

A course preparing students to maintain, evaluate, design, and build agricultural structures using approved construction techniques.

 Wildlife and Recreation Management  Grades 10-12 1/2 credit

A course designed to examine the importance of wildlife and outdoor recreation with emphasis on using wildlife.Students will not receive certification in Hunter Education or Boater Education.

Animal Science Grades 10-12 1/2 credit

A course designed to develope knowledge and skills pertaining to the nutrition, reproduction, health and management of domestic animals.   

 Agricultural Mechanics I & II Grades 11-12 1-2 credits 

 A laboratory-oriented course designed to introduce the scientific principles, concepts, and skill development necessary in agricultural mechanics. The course emphasizes soil and water conservation, electrification, concrete and masonry construction, building planning and construction, small engine and agricultural equipment maintenance and repair, and oxyfuel and electric cutting and welding. Instruction will include information on career opportunities, leadership activities, and record keeping practices related to the industry. Class requires teacher approval. 

 Energy and Environmental Technology Grades 10-12 1/2 credit

  A course designed to explore interrelationships of people and natural resources with special emphasis on conservation and protection of the environment.

  Agriscience and Technology Independent Study Grades 11-12 1/2 credit

 Prerequisite: Completion of at least three courses in a career coherent sequence

 A project-based learning experience developed by a student or group of students, teacher, and an interdisciplinary mentor team. The project provides opportunities for an in-depth study of at least one aspect of the agricultural science and technology area. The student or group demonstrates the ability to utilize a variety of resources, advanced technology, and communication skills in the development and presentation of the project.

Project can meet the Distinguished Achievement Program requirements for advanced measures.

 Agricultural Resources Grades 10-12 1-2 credits

 A laboratory-oriented course designed to develop skills in relation land, water, and air management; wildlife and habitat management; forest resource management; and development of outdoor recreational activities. Instruction will include information on career opportunities, leadership activities, and record keeping practices related to the various industries. Required teacher approval.

Food Technology Grades 10-12 1/2 credit

 A course concerned with world food production; the processing, preparing, and packaging of foods; government regulations regarding foods; exploring career opportunities; and leadership development.

Personal Skills Development in Agriculture Grades 10-12 1/2 credit

 A comprehensive course designed to develop agricultural leadership, citizenship, and cooperation. Instruction includes such topics as personal development, employee/employer relations, and group and interpersonal communication skills.
